Dean Butler was born May 20, 1956, in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. He played the role of Almanzo Wilder in the later years of the Little House on the Prairie television series. He has spent most of his life living in California, and currently lives just below the famous "Hollywood sign". His hobbies include photography, running, wood working, and singing in his home recording studio. He co-founded the Dreams to Reality Foundation which helps AIDS patients, and does AIDS awareness. He can currently be seen in a Hardee's commercial, and was also recently in a national Mercedes Benz commercial. He also did an episodic writing assignment on the Canadian produced Tekwar. He has also judged the Miss America Pageant, and has judged and hosted numerous state pagents, including those held in Tennessee, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and California.
