American actor of Italian and Irish origin, Dean Winters played in several television series such as Oz, New York Special Unit (first season), Rescue Me, the heroes of September 11 or more recently in Terminator: the Chronicles of Sarah Connor.

In the cinema, we can see it in the films Hellraiser 6 (2002) and Winter of Frozen Dreams (2008).

Dean is the brother of Scott William Winters (also an actor) with whom he managed the bar of several establishments in New York before becoming an actor.

Dean and Scott William Winters continued to work together but this time on television by interpreting the O’Reilly brothers in the Oz series.

Winters was born on July 20, 1964 in New York, in New York. He grew up in the Brooklyn district with his two brothers, Scott and Brad. After graduating from the secondary school, he studied at the Boston Arts College, where he graduated in dramatic arts.

Winters began his career by playing in plays in New York and in the region, before making his cinema debut in 1992 in the film Leap of Faith. He then played in films such as The Last Supper and The Craft before making himself known to the general public thanks to his role as Ryan O'Reily in the Oz series.

Since then, Winters has continued to work in the world of television, playing in series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, 30 rock and Rescue Me. He also played in films such as The Perfect Weapon and The Negotiator . In addition to his acting work, Winters is also a producer and a screenwriter.

Apart from his acting career, Winters is also known for his advertising campaigns for Allstate Insurance, where he interpreted the character of "Mayhem". He is also a fervent defender of lung cancer research due to the loss of his mother because of this disease.
