Biography for Heather Langenkamp

Heather Langenkamp (born July 17, 1964) is a former movie actress. Her most famous role was that of Nancy Thompson in the horror movie classic A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Langenkamp was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Dobie and Mary Alice Langenkamp. The blue-eyed, brunette Langenkamp's first acting venture was in her late teens: a small part in Francis Ford Coppola's 1983 screen adaption of S.E. Hinton's novel The Outsiders (1983), incidentally to a large extent filmed in Tulsa.

While she was studying at Stanford University, Wes Craven cast her as teen heroine Nancy Thompson in the first Nightmare. Langenkamp's innocent look coupled with natural acting ability for the role helped the film become a huge box office success, which has to date spawned seven sequels, of which Heather has starred in two. In between starring roles, she played introverted Marie Lubbock on the television series Just the Ten of Us from 1988 to 1990.

She reprised her role of Thompson in Part III. In 1994, Wes Craven directed the seventh film to feature Freddy Krueger - Wes Craven's New Nightmare. This film, more ambitious than others in the franchise, saw Langenkamp play herself, as Krueger (played by Robert Englund) tried to break out of the movie series and into the "real world". As the movie progresses, Langenkamp shifts from playing herself to playing Nancy "one last time" as she is the only person who can defeat Freddy.

Langenkamp's most recent screen appearance was in Fugitive Mind in 1999. She currently runs the Malibu Gum Company, which sells chewing gum packaged with trading cards depicting local surfing stars. She has married twice and has two children from her second husband, special effects make-up artist David Anderson.

The young Heather Langenkamp was born on 07/17/1964 in Oklahoma. Coming from a rather comfortable family (her father is a lawyer), the young woman lives a most normal adolescence and studies English at the University of Stanford.

Heather took his first steps in the cinema in "Outsiders" by Francis Ford Coppola in 1983. Inspired by Hinton's book (written in 1967), the story relates a certain vision of American adolescence. Note that Hinton was only 17 years old when he wrote this book, which undoubtedly explains the lucidity and violence of the subject which propelled the film at the top of the box office. Heather will not benefit from this craze. Indeed, the little appearance it makes in the film is simply cut in the final editing.

Whatever, she doesn't know it yet, but she will just have to wait a short year to finally know the consecration. It was indeed in 1984 that Heather was retained for the role of Nancy Thompson in "Les Griftes de la Nuit" by Wes Craven. A saga that will have no less than 7 components.

A new Croquemitaine arrives on the screens: Freddy, gloved of blades, killer of children through their dreams. The theme is original, the film is a world triumph. And all the young males on the planet literally crack for this heroine brunette with blue eyes.

The success is on the way, and Heather will make most of his career in the 80s.

1984 will also be the year of her first marriage to Alan Pasqua a young composer, whom she divorced in 1987.

She also filmed for television, especially in 1985 in the very pretty drama "Nickel Mountain", where she camps a young pregnant girl, abandoned by her boyfriend. This is an opportunity to discover another facet of the Miss which turns out to be overwhelming in this film.

Wes Craven recalls it in 1987 for the shooting of the third episode of Freddy: A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors where it resumes its initial role; Success is always there.

In 1988 we found it once again on TV in a series/comedy "Just The Ten of Us", the story of a couple and their 8 children. Nothing exceptional, but it keeps contact with the artistic environment.

In 1989, Wes Craven called again for her services to "Shocker", but this time she had to be satisfied with a tiny role: she simply plays a victim! Nevertheless, their complicity is obvious, Heather becoming her favorite actress.

The 90s began with a remarriage with David Leroy Anderson, FX specialist by trade (worked on M.I.B in particular in 1997), with whom she will have two children. For the anecdote, actor Charlie Sheen was his wedding witness. They have known each other from an early age, from the university more precisely, and his very friends in life.

It is now rarer in the cinema and is increasingly interested in production. However, Craven reminds her in 1994 for the last episode of Freddy: "New Nightmare- Aka Wes Craven’s New Nightmare" (Freddy comes out of the night) where she plays her own role.

It is also seen on TV in a TV movie retracing the sports scandal that made a big splash in the USA between the two skater Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding at the dawn of the Olympic Games. Harding being accused of having voluntarily hired someone to injure Kerrigan and thus prevent him from participating in the Olympic Games. "Tonya and Nancy: The Inside Story" will be a great popular success and will fascinate America. In 1995, she filmed "The Demolitionist" A futuristic thriller, a genre that she will renew in 1999 in "Fugitive Mind" alongside Michael Dudikoff.

Heather is also a jack-of-all-trades: she notably lends her voice in the song "Are you Ready for Freddy?" Interpreted by the Fat Boys, which we hear at the end of the 4th episode: "A Nightmare on Elm Street Part IV: Dream Master.

It also appears in the video clip of the ZZ Top "Sleeping Bag", or even participates in a TV commercial program "For Cherry 7-UP" in the company of Matt Leblanc ("Friends")

The 2000s are calm, and we find Heather especially in the series "Jag".

In 2003, she was cited in thanks in the credits of "Freddy vs Jason".

2004 will be one more experience by joining the production team on "the army of the dead" under the name of Heather Langenkamp Anderson.

But what characterizes this very young forty -year -old is the lucidity on her profession which she never left.

Heather Langenkamp is an American actress known for having played the main role in the cult horror film "Nightmare on Elm Street" (Les Griftes de la Nuit) in 1984. She also played in other films in the franchise "Nightmare We Elm Street "as well as in television productions and independent films.

Langenkamp was born on July 17, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and grew up in Katy, Texas. She studied English theater and literature at the University of Texas in Austin, where she graduated in 1986. After completing her studies, Langenkamp settled in Los Angeles to continue her acting career.

In 1984, Langenkamp auditioned for the main role of the film "Nightmare on Elm Street" and was chosen from hundreds of other candidates. The film, which tells the story of a young girl terrorized by a serial killer called Freddy Krueger, has become a commercial success and launched the career of Langenkamp. She played in two other franchise films, "Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" in 1987 and "Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Master" in 1988.

In addition to his film career, Langenkamp has also played in television series such as "The Facts of Life", "Chips" and "The New Adventures of Superman". She also appeared in independent films such as "Popcorn" and "It's My Party".

In addition to her acting work, Langenkamp is also a producer and director. In 2007, she produced and produced the documentary "Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy", which explores the history of the franchise "Nightmare on Elm Street". She also produced and played in the independent film "I Am Nancy", which tells the story of the relationship between Langenkamp and her character from Nancy in "Nightmare on Elm Street".

Over the years, Langenkamp has been praised for its contribution to popular culture thanks to its emblematic role in "Nightmare on Elm Street". She was honored at many events related to the genre of horror, and continues to work as an actress and producer.
