James Whitmore Jr. (born October 24, 1948 in New York, New York, USA) is an actor and television director best known for acting on the television program Baa Baa Black Sheep.

Whitmore has had recurring guest-starring roles on the TV series The Rockford Files, Hunter and The Pretender. Series he has directed include Hunter, Beverly Hills, 90210, The Pretender, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dawson's Creek, 24, and Cold Case.

James is the son of well-known actor James Whitmore.
