Ketty Lester of her real name Revoyda Frierson is an American singer and actress born August 16, 1934 in Hope in Arkansas.
After studying music in San Francisco, she started with being a singer. She tours Europe with the Cab Calloway orchestra. Following a brief passage in a production on Broadway entitled "Cabin in the Sky", she signs in the records which will come out "Love Letters". This song will become a standard in the United Kingdom and the United States and will rise to 2nd place in the Billboard R&B Chart.
In 1962, she released the album "Betty Everett & Ketty Lester", in collaboration with R&B Singer Betty Everett.
It was in the early 1970s that she began her acting career. From 1975 to 1977, she played the role of Helen Grant in days and lives and from 1978 to 1983 that of Hester-Sue Terhune in the little house in the meadow. She has not made any appearance since 1998.
