Biography for Michael Chiklis

Educated at Boston University's School for the Arts, majoring in acting, before moving to New York City. Michael has numerous theater credits including the roles of Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire and Touchstone in Shakespeare's As You Like It.

Born in Lowell in Massachusetts., He reveals his imitator gifts from the age of 5. As a child, he performs in regional shows and professional passes at 13 years old.

A few days after obtaining a dramatic art license at the University of Boston, he successfully postulates for the role of

John Belushi in the film Wired (1989).

He then turned into a guest-star in two cops in Miami, a cop in the mafia, the law of Los Angeles, Murphy Brown and Seinfeld, and in 1991, won the title role of the Comnist, broadcast on ABC until in 1996.

After that, he interpreted in Broadway the One-Man Show Defending The Caveman and for a few years, alternates cinema and television before being devoted in 2002 by The Shield. Michael Chiklis is the star of the ultra-realistic series The Shield which earned him the Golden Globe, the Emmy and the Television Critics Association for his role as a rebel cop, obeying only his own rules.

Director and occasional producer of this successful series, Chiklis is one of his other Nixon films by Oliver Stone, Soldier with Kurt Russell, and rescue with William Hurt and Jennifer Tilly.

He also participated in the comic series Daddio and played the role of Curly in the TV movie The Three Stooges, of which Mel Gibson was the executive producer.

In 2005, he was playing in Tim Story's film, the fantastic 4 where he plays the role of Ben Grimm, the thing. We also find him in the other adaptation of the famous comics: the fantastic 4 and the silver surfer, released in 2007. The following year, he was the star of the horror film by Sebastian Gutierrez: Rise, also interpreted by Lucy Liu.

Michael Chiklis is an American actor born August 30, 1963 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He is best known for his role as Vic Mackey in the police series "The Shield" for which he won a Golden Globe in 2002.

Chiklis began his acting career in the 1980s with appearances in television series such as "Miami Vice" and "The Comish". He also played in several films such as "The Thing" and "Fantastic Four".

In 2005, he played in the television series "No Ordinary Family", where he played a father with superpowers. More recently, he played in the series "Gotham" as police chief Nathaniel Barnes.

Apart from his acting career, Chiklis is also a singer and a musician. He formed a rock group called "The Low and Mighty" and released an album in 2008.

Chosen over 200 other candidates for the role of John Belushi in the fantasy biopic Wired (1989).

After his show "Daddio" (2000) went off the air, his wife suggested that Chiklis slim his weight down and change his self image with a different look and a totally different acting part, even if they have to create one themselves for him. He then shaved his head, lost more than 50 pounds, worked out vigorously and the two of them started to write a "rogue cop" movie role for him. Chiklis eventually read "The Shield" (2002)'s pilot script (originally called "Rampart"), which was similar to his "rogue cop" movie script, and aggressively pursued the part of Vic Mackey until he got it. When he read for the the part, he generated anger by being furious at the prospect of not getting it.

Is Greek on his father's Charles (Charlie) Chiklis, a second-generation Greek American who runs a hair salon, side, his family hailing from the island of Lesbos. His mother Katherine (Kate) is a hospital administrative aide.

When he was on "The Commish" (1991), a hostage situation broke out down the street from his house. Two LAPD plainclothes detectives came up to him when he was out in his yard and explained the situation to him, thinking he was the LAPD commissioner.

Said when he arrived in New York City, that he was going to kick the city's ass. Three years later when he was a struggling actor so poor that he couldn't afford a can of Spam, he was sitting on the Brooklyn Bridge begging for forgiveness. It was that day when he got the role in Wired (1989).

Growing up, his childhood idol was the heroic comic book character Ben Grimm, aka The Thing of the Fantastic Four. In fact, at the age of 18, he told his brother that if a Fanatastic Four movie was ever made, he would play Ben Grimm. He lived his fantasy and got to play what he called "my dream role" in 2005 when he played the character in "The Fantastic Four".
