Mainly known for his role as Cyril O'Reilly, detained suffering from a traumatic dementia '(mental age between 3 and 6 years old) and little brother of Ryan O'Reilly in the television series Oz (1998-2003), Scott William Winters also obtained a small role in the cinema in the successful film, Will Hunting (1997), alongside Matt Damon, Robin Williams and Ben Affleck. He also played in the Sheriff series in Los Angeles (2003), in the role of Matt Jablonski.

Scott William Winters is an American actor, born June 3, 1965 in New York. He is best known for his roles in television series such as "New York: Special Unit", "Dexter" and "The Wire". Winters has also played in many films, such as "Les Deux Tours", "Frost/Nixon" and "The Last Samurai".

Winters grew up in New York with his older brother, actor Dean Winters. He studied at the Lycée de la Salle Institute, then graduated from the entertainment at Fordham University. After starting his career on the boards, he started playing in films and television series from the 1990s.

Winters is known for his role as Ryan O'Reily in the television series "Oz", in which he played for five seasons. He also played the role of Russ Josephson in "New York: special unit" for three seasons, and that of Ray Speltzer in "Dexter" for two seasons. In "The Wire", he played the role of Inspector Norman Wilson for two seasons.

In addition to his roles on television, Winters has played in several films, including "Les Deux Tours" and "Le Retour du Roi", two films from the "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy by Peter Jackson. He also played in "Frost/Nixon" by Ron Howard, "The Last Samurai" by Edward Zwick and "already seen" by Tony Scott.

Apart from his acting career, Winters is also passionate about music and plays guitar and drums. He also participated in charitable concerts for organizations such as Music for Relief and Stand Up For Heroes.
