Anthony Stewart Head was born on February 20, 1954 in Camden Town, North London, England. He grew up in Hampton, which was near London. He's the youngest son of his parents, Seafield Head (a documentary filmmaker) and Helen Shingler (an actress). He has an older brother named Murray Head. Head has a girlfriend, named Sarah Fisher (they've been living together for the past 15 years). They met each other when he was 28 and she was 18. She's a former theatre administrator, but nowadays she's an animal trainer. They have two daughters, named Emily Rose (born 1989) and Daisy May (born 1991). Besides acting, Head is also a good singer. In 1983, he was in a band named 'Two Way'. The band released a 45 single with three songs,produced by Richard Dodd and Ron Roker. Head's other skills are: horse riding, swimming, scuba diving, piano, guitar and stage fighting.

Anthony Stewart Head did not spend his childhood, nor his adolescence in front of the cameras although he is always bathed in the world of cinema. His father Seafield Head is a filmmaker and his mother Helen Shingler is an actress. He and his big brother, Murray Head, are passionate about music. He still plays in small plays from the age of six. He then entered the Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts). He left it in 1976 to start working in the cinema, theater and television. But English and American viewers know him mainly for his participation in various advertising films (Nescafé, Taster's Choice). He also plays in musicals, including the famous Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Anthony is also a very good singer. He is even part of a group, Two Way. In 1992 he left England and moved to the United States. In 1999, he obtained the role of Rupert Giles in the series for Ados Buffy against vampires.

He is left handed.

Appeared in a series of popular 'Nescafe Gold Blend' coffee adverts in the UK in the 1980s. The adverts were re-edited for broadcast in the US where the coffee is known as 'Taster's Choice'.

Sang in a musical episode of "BUFFY..." which aired in the US on 6 November 2001.

His own home in Somerset which he shares with Sarah, Daisy and Emily was used for the filming of some episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

Once played Dr. Frank N Furter in a London stage production of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". He met his partner, Sarah, at the National Theatre in England. He was performing in 'Danton's Death'.

After musical performances on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997), he teamed up with artist George Sarah to create the album 'Music for Elevators' which was released on February 5th 2002.

On August 1, 2004, after the May 11, 2004, horrifying incident in which 9 people were killed and more than 40 were injured in an explosion at ICL Plastics in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the headliner at a science fiction convention to raise money for the for the Grovepark Memorial Fund (for victims and their families).
