Biography for Katey Sagal

For over a decade actress/singer Katey Sagal would become synonymous with the vulgar, brazen, undomesticated "Peg Bundy" TV persona on "Married...with Children." Somehow she managed to achieve the impossible by completely sidestepping the damaging stereotype with her portrayal of a much more responsible parent in her latest sitcom "Eight Simple Rules." Co-starring the late John Ritter until his sudden passing in 2003, Katey valiantly moved front-and-center with successful results. Born Catherine Louise Sagal in 1954, her father was Boris Sagal, the noted TV and sometime film director (1965's "Girl Happy" with Elvis Presley was one.) He died tragically on May 22, 1981, while on the set for "World War III," when he accidentally walked into a helicopter rear rotor. Katey's mother, Sara Zwilling, was a director and singer who died earlier in 1975 at the age of 47 from heart disease. A singer/songwriter who began performing by age 5, Katey studied voice and acting at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. A singing waitress during her "salad" years, she started up with a band "The Group with no Name" and then caught a break after hooking up with Gene Simmons and his 70s rock band Kiss. She went on to become a backup recording singer for Simmons and other established stars, including Etta James and Tanya Tucker. Katey also performed live backup with Bette Midler as one of the "Harlettes" in Bette's wildly avante garde stage shows during the late 70s and early 80s. After that, Katey started focusing on TV and film. In 1985, she was spotted while performing on stage in a musical by talent agents, who subsequently cast her as Mary Tyler Moore's feisty co-worker, Jo Tucker, in "Mary," a short-lived comedy series. Her work on "Mary" helped her to get "Married... with Children" and the rest is history. In an attempt to distance herself from the Peg Bundy image, Katey has over the years purposely turned to TV movies, appearing in such fare as 1998's "Chance of a Lifetime," a charming romantic comedy that also co-starred John Ritter, and 1999's "God's New Plan," a tearjerker in which she played a dying mom. Her first marriage to bass player Freddie Beckmeyer ended in divorce after three years. A second to Jack White, who was involved in the "Mighty Ducks" hockey film series as both actor and adviser, also ended in divorce.

Catherine Louise Sagal was born in 1954 in Hollywood. Theater actress, she hardly appears on the screen before becoming Peggy. Three TV movies in 4 years, then she disappears 10 years from the small screen before returning to the series, Mary, with Mary Tyler Moore as a partner. The series lasts only one season, then the actress obtains the role of Peggy. Glory still does not dazzle her, and she continues to be discreet. A few feature films next to the series, Katey Sagal is a woman who keeps her head cool and who even fades. After stopping the series, she engages in dubbing. She lends her voice to the delicious Leela in Futurama of Matt Groening. For the year 2000, she played again in a sitcom, Tucker, but the series was quickly stopped.

David Faustino is an American actor born March 3, 1974 in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for having played the role of Bud Bundy in the popular sitcom of the 1990s, Married ... with Children (without a sub -French sub). Faustino began his acting career at a young age, appearing in children's advertisements and films before winning his main role in Married ... with Children in 1987. Since the end of the series in 1997, Faustino has continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in movies and television shows. In addition to his acting career, Faustino is also a producer, screenwriter and executive producer. He also launched his own production company, Faustino Productions, in 2003. In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Faustino is also an accomplished musician and released several rap albums under the name of D 'Lil. Overall, David Faustino is a talented and versatile actor who knew how to make a name for himself in the entertainment industry by playing in popular films and television programs.

Trivia

Wore a wig for her role as Peg Bundy in "Married... with Children" (1987).

She sang the song "Loose Cannons", which appears over the end credits of the movie Loose Cannons (1990).

She appeared in the music video and sang in the choir on the song "Voices That Care."

She has been a back-up singer for Bob Dylan, Bette Midler, Gene Simmons and Tanya Tucker.

In a far cry from the red-wigged, stiletto-heeled Peg Bundy on "Married...With Children," she plays a responsible sitcom parent Cate Hennessey on "Eight Simple Rules."

Released a second CD in June 2004 called "Room," a collection of pop originals and classics.

Was hired to sing back-up for Bob Dylan during his 1978 tour but was fired (along with half the band) a week before it started up.

One of her "Peg Bundy" bras is located in the Frederick's of Hollywood Lingerie Museum in Hollywood. It was stolen during the 1993 riots, but was returned by the thieves after they discovered its value.

In December of 1989, she miscarried her first baby in the second month of her pregnancy. A second child born in October 1991 was stillborn. She missed several episodes of "Married...With Children" at the time of her second loss while recovering. The pregnancy had been incorporated into earlier episodes but, after the tragedy, was later dismissed as "having a bad dream."

At the auditions of Married...With Children, it was her own idea of dressing up Peggy by wearing clothes from the 50's.
