Cloris Leachman has more than forty films to his credit, several television series, more than 35 TV movies, a dozen special programs and nearly thirty plays. During her 40 years of career, she obtained 8 Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, a Bafta Award, a National Board of Review Award and an Oscar for the best supporting role - she received these last three prizes for her portrait of Ruth Popper in the last session (The Last Picture Show) (1971) by Peter Bogdanovich.

She was recently the interpreter of Bad Santa (2003) by Terry Zwigoff, Alex & Emma by Rob Reiner, the lits of Beverly Hills by Penelope Spheeris, The Amati Girls by Anne de Salvo, hangs up! (Hanging Up) (1999) by Diane Keaton, with Keaton, Meg Ryan and Lisa Kudrow, and the music of my heart (Music of the Heart) (1999) by Wes Craven, with Meryl Streep, Angela Bassett, Aidan Quinn and Gloria Estefan. In 2001, Ellen Degeneres chose her to embody her mother in The Ellen Show series, and in 2004, she obtained her fourth quote in a row for the Malcolm series. She won an eighth Emmy in 2002 for her regular role as Grandmother Ida on the series.

She grew up not far from monks, in iowa, and, a teenager, hosted her first talk show on a local radio. She studied the Northwestern University and was one of the five finalists for the title of Miss America in 1946.

Elia Kazan then chose it to become one of the members of the original Actors Studio. She almost immediately made her Broadway debut in "Sundown Beach". She won the Daniel Blum Theater World Award and then played several pieces on Broadway which "as you will like" with Katharine Hepburn. Cloris Leachman is an American actress known for her work in cinema, television and theater. She started her career in the mid -1940s by playing in Broadway plays before turning to cinema and television. She won the Oscar for best actress in a supporting role for her role in the film "The Last Picture Show" in 1971. She also won eight Primetime Emmy Awards, which makes him one of the most awarded actresses of the history of television.

Leachman has played in many famous films, notably "Young Frankenstein", "High Anxiety", "The Boston Strangler" and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". She has also played in many television series, including "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "Phyllis" and "Malcolm in the Middle". In addition to her achievements in cinema and television, she was also a television presenter and played in plays in Broadway.

Leachman was born in 1926 to monks in Iowa. She grew up in a family of musicians and studied dance, music and comedy before embarking on an acting career. She married George Englund in 1953 and had five children with him before divorce in 1979. She continued to work in the world of entertainment until advanced age, continuing to play in films and television series until 'In 2021. Cloris Leachman was considered one of the most talented and versatile actresses of his generation and left an indelible imprint on the world of cinema and television.
