Roseanne Barr is probably one of America's funniest comedians, but there is another side of Roseanne that not many people have seen. Roseanne was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and during her teenage years she spent time as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. She married her husband, Bill Pentland and they had three children together. They remained married for sixteen years, until Roseanne found her place as a comedian. She spent time in local stand up comedy clubs, until, in 1987, HBO offered Roseanne her own show, The Roseanne Barr Show (1987) (TV). After a short time it was cancelled. In 1989, Roseanne starred in a comedy opposite Meryl Streep - _She Devil (1989)_ . Though her first picture wasn't as successful as she wanted it to be, television companies NBC and ABC got her into an eight season comedy series called "Roseanne" (1988). During the show, Roseanne fell in love with fellow cast member, Tom Arnold and Roseanne divorced her husband Bill, after nearly 20 years of marriage and married Arnold.

During later years of the show, Roseanne also divorced Tom Arnold and TV show ratings went down. In 1996 she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award and won, but was not there to accept it. After "Roseanne" was cancelled, she went on Broadway to play The Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, which was a major success. To date, Roseanne has yet again been remarried and re-divorced and she still does a number of comedy appearances and TV guest appearances.

Roseanne was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Young, she gave shows for her family on Friday evenings when they were gathered with her grandmother to celebrate the Sabbath. She frequented the Salt Lake High School East for a while, but abandoned her studies and at 18, moved to Colorado to live in a hippie commune. She married and had three children. They went to settle in Denver where she was going to know difficult days by working as a barmaid and a window decorator.

His friends and employers appreciated his sense of distribution and his funny reflections. They suggested that he make comedy shows. In a few years, she became the most popular comic in Denver. In 1983, she moved to Hollywood where she quickly found work for the special television program Funny.

From there, she went to Tonight Show and finally, at the sitcom which was going to make her famous, Roseanne. Having the daily life of an average family less than perfect, Roseanne the series experienced a dazzling success and was on the waves for nine years. The series was often appointed and received numerous Emmy prizes, Golden Globes and American Comedy.

Roseanne, the series, reflected the many changes that affected Roseanne's personal life. When she undergoes a breast reduction, her alter ego of television too. When she married Tom Arnold in 1990, he was quickly integrated into the series and she proudly appeared in the credits like Roseanne Arnold.

When in May 1997 the series ended, Roseanne immediately continued with her interpretation of the wicked witch of the West in the production of the Madison Square Garden of the Magician of Oz.

She then worked on the development of her Talk Show project which was going to be on the other hand in the fall of 1998, The Roseanne Show. Her daughters, brandished, Jennifer and Jessica Pentland worked with her.

While appearing on television, we could see Roseanne in the cinema, in films like the Devil (1989), what I am still mixing (for which she lends her voice to a baby character) (1990), even Cowgirls have a vague to the soul (1993) and finally, in Joe Dirt (2001). She still hasn't found the role that will make her a leading star.

In addition to her acting skills, her autobiography, Roseanne: My Life as a Woman My Lives, made her a best-seller author.

Married three times and having five children, she is currently single.
