When he's not acting, Faustino's interests stretch to music and business. His rap name is "D" Lil'. He has been featured in a rap album entitled "Balistyx" and on a 1992 Black & White Records release called "I Told Ya." On the business side, he manages a hip-hop and funk night club on Sunset Boulevard since 1991 also named Balistyx. David co-wrote the story of the Married... with Children episode 1114 (T*R*A*S*H).

Since the age of six, David Faustino has been used to television sets. He turns in a few TV movies, appears in two films (one with Walter Matthau, the other with Michael Douglas) and lends his voice for cartoons. In 1983, he obtained his first important role in the television series "Trapper John, M.D.", in which he played the role of Dr. Jack Steinberg for three seasons.

In 1987, Garrison obtained the role that made him famous as Steve Rhoades in the television series "Married ... with Children". Steve Rhoades is a main character in the series and the first husband of Al Bundy (played by Ed O'Neill). The series was a commercial success and was broadcast for eleven seasons, from 1987 to 1997.

After the end of "Married ... With Children", Garrison continued to play in various television and films series. He also played in Broadway theater productions, notably in musicals "Cabaret" and "A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine". In 2003, he played in the film "School of Rock" with Jack Black.

Apart from his acting career, Garrison is also a committed political activist. He is a member of the American Green Party and was a candidate for Congress in California in 2012. He is also a member of the association "Artists for a New South Africa", which supports the fight against AIDS and racial discrimination in South Africa .
