Franklyn Seales is an American actor, from the island of Saint-Vincent, in the Caraîbes, born July 15, 1952, died on May 21, 1990 in Brooklyn, New York of AIDS. Franklyn Seales had arrived in the United States at the age of 15 and had followed John Houseman's dramatic art courses at Juilliars School. Beginnings at the theater alongside Stacy Keach in Hamlet.

Franklyn Seales was an American actor known for his work in the 1980s. He was born on May 5, 1952 in Saint Vincent and died on May 14, 1990 at the age of 38.

Seales started his career by playing in theatrical productions, before making himself known by playing the role of Eliot Weston in the Silver Spoons television sitcom. He also played in films such as The Island (1980), Something Wild (1986) and Mississippi Burning (1988).

Despite his promising career, Seales was faced with many health problems during his lifetime. He suffered from type 1 diabetes, which forced him to undergo many daily insulin injections. In 1989, he was also diagnosed with kidney disease, which forced him to undergo dialysis three times a week.

Despite these difficulties, Seales continued to work and do what he liked the most: playing comedy. He played in many films and television series until his death in 1990. He left behind a lasting heritage as a talented actor and devoted to his art.

Listed as one of twelve "Promising New Actors of 1979" in John Willis' Screen World, Vol. 31.

Best known on film as James Woods' cop-killing partner in "The Onion Field", in 1979. Best known on TV as the fussy, meticulous business manager Dexter Stuffins on "Silver Spoons," in the 1980s.

Born on the Caribbean island of St. Vincent and had three brothers and three sisters.

Trained under John Houseman at Juilliard, later working in regional theater and the New York Shakespeare Festival. He played Hamlet at the L.A. Theatre Center.

He also did some artwork as a painter.

He studied with colorist and landscape artist Ian Robertson and West Indies artist O. D. Brisbane. Later, after he moved from St. Vincent to New York City, he studied with Ron Mellman of the Brooklyn Museum.

His screaming during the murder in "The Onion Field" was unscripted and improvised.
