. Perry's wife, Jamie Elvidge, was featured in the 1996 documentary Biker Women (1996) (TV). She works as a motorcycle journalist. Both Perry and her are avid motorcyclists.

. By way of Perry's grandfather, literary editor Maxwell Perkins, he descends from Senator Wm. Evarts; Roger Sherman, signer of the Declaration of Independence and through Roger Shermans grandfather Roger Wellington he descends from Edward I, King of England, UK.

. Graduated from Yale University with a degree in theatre, and then attended Julliard School, where he studied acting with John Houseman.
