Synopsis

This series features Jake Axminster's investigations, a private detective in Los Angeles in the 1930s.

City of Angels was an American television series which was broadcast between 2000 and 2002 on the CBS channel. The series was located in Los Angeles in the 1930s and followed the adventures of two private detectives, Ty Knight and Nate Moretta, who worked in a growing and constantly evolving city.

The series highlighted the various aspects of life in Los Angeles in the 1930s, including problems related to crime, corruption and racial conflicts. The two detectives were constantly confronted with difficult and dangerous cases, and had to sail in a world where the law was not always respected and where the rules were often made to be bypassed.

The casting of City of Angels included actors such as Blair Underwood in the role of Ty Knight, Justin Chambers in the role of Nate Moretta, Vivica A. Fox in the role of Josie Clayton, and Ian Anthony Dale in the role of Jimmy Hayashi . The series was produced by Tim Kring and Gary Fleder, and was based on the American television series of the 1950s, private detective investigations.

Despite its good criticism, City of Angels was not a commercial success and was canceled after only two seasons. However, the series was praised for its realism and its unique approach to life in Los Angeles in the 1930s, and remains a classic for fans of the police television series.
