Poltergeist: The Legacy is an American television series which was broadcast between 1996 and 1999. The series was focused on a group of paranormal phenomena called "the adventurers of the supernatural", who were traveling around the world to investigate paranormal and try to solve them. The series was created by Richard Barton Lewis and was produced by Spelling Television. The series featured Derek from Lint, Robbi Chong, Martin Cummins, Brendan Fletcher, David Hewlett and Helen Shaver in the main roles. The series was shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The story of the series took place around the secret organization of the "Adventurers of the supernatural", which was made up of people with paranormal capacities, such as telepathy, telekinesis and clairvoyance. The group was led by a man named Derek Rayne, who had the ability to see the future. The members of the group were responsible for resolving cases of paranormal phenomena, such as ghosts, poltergeists and demonic possessions. They had to face many dangers in their quest for truth, and often had to resort to extraordinary methods to overcome the evil forces they encountered. The series was well received by criticism and won several awards, including a Gemini prize for the best artistic direction in a dramatic series. The series was also nominated for a Leo prize in the best dramatic series category. Despite its success, the series was not renewed for a fifth season due to budget problems and creative disputes between producers and distribution members.
