Synopsis

Inspired by the childhood of the actor Chris Rock, the series follows the life of a young black man in the 1980s, eldest of three children, who had to abandon his district of Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn every morning to go to study in a district of White. This young adolescent seeks his place between his family obligations and the difficult integration into college.

Over the seasons, which each correspond to a year of Chris's life, we follow Chris from Corleone college to the Lycée de Tattaglia from 1982 to 1987. He takes more confidence in him and rebelled more easily against his parents.

Everyone hates Chris is an American television series broadcast between 2005 and 2009 on the UPN television channel and then on The CW. The series was inspired by the life of the actor and humorist Chris Rock when he was a teenager in the 1980s. The show follows the adventures of Chris, an African-American young boy who grew up in a difficult Brooklyn district with his family Composed of his mother Rochelle, his father Julius, his brothers and sisters Drew, Tonya and Greg, and his grandmother Pops.

The series was greeted by criticism for his intelligent humor and for his refreshing approach to the life of an African-American teenager in the 1980s. She was also recognized for her diverse casting and for her acting talent, especially That of Tyler James Williams in the role of Chris. The series won several awards, including a NAACP Image Award in 2006 and a Primetime Emmy Award in 2008. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe in 2007.
