Synopsis

Maddie Hayes, a rich and beautiful model, wakes up a ruined morning. His accountant left with the cash register. He only has a few investments and a private detective agency in bankruptcy. She decides to close it and meets the director of the agency a certain David Addison. The latter, an inveterate partycracy who spends most of his time singing in bars or perched on his desk will do everything to convince Maddie not to close the agency. She ends up accepting on the condition of becoming her partner. This is the beginning of an eventful relationship ...

Atypical and cult series, Moon Clair does not respect any rule of series and this is what made its success. The characters are aimed at spectators, share their reflection, etc.

The police intrigue quickly passes into the background, in favor of the relationship between the characters. They spend their time bickering. Why ? They are in love but do not want to admit it ...

Clair de Lune (Moonlighting in English) was an American television series broadcast between 1985 and 1989. She featured Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd in the main roles of David Addison and Maddie Hayes, respectively. The series followed the adventures of David and Maddie, two eccentric private detectives that worked together to resolve complex surveys.

The series was known for its intelligent humor and rapid dialogues, as well as for its unique mix of romantic comedy and thriller. She was also famous for her colorful secondary characters, such as Bert (an eccentric computer scientist), Agnès (an attractive secretary), and Herbert (a noisy and invasive neighbor).

Clair de Lune has won numerous prizes, including five Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. The series was also nominated for several other awards, notably for the best actor and the best actress (Willis and Shepherd, respectively). The series was a real critical and commercial success, and it is considered one of the American television classics in the 1980s.

Despite its success, the series has experienced difficult moments over the years. The shooting of the series was sometimes disturbed by the arguments between Willis and Shepherd, who did not always get along on the set. In addition, the series has undergone many changes of director and producer during its lifespan, which affected the continuity of the history and the quality of certain episodes.

Despite these obstacles, Moon Clair remains one of the most popular and influential television series of its time. She has been rebroadcast several times since her end in 1989, and she continued to win new fans around the world thanks to her unique combination of humor, romance and mystery.

Trivia

The time series of its splendor was appointed 7 times to the Emmy Awards and unique, both in the dramatic and comedy category. Finally she welcomed a lot of stars of the small and the big screen: Whoopi Goldberg, Orson Welles, Ray Charles, Percy Sledge ...

The peculiarity of the series (which made it stay in the Annals) is to have shattered the sacro saint "4th wall of television" in a particular and constant way: that is to say the one that does not does not exist because the camera films with this opening. Indeed, this is the first time that the actors have been talking with cameramen, screenwriters and above all have been aimed at tele -owners. David and Maddie are constantly intervening to explain an overly complicated story to us, apologize on behalf of the writers, take us witness, have accelerated the end of an episode for lack of time, read the mail of readers ...

Scenes or aftershocks, stressing the fact that the characters know themselves fictitious, arise at all times. In "The portrait of Maddie", David Addison enters an office by brutally opening the door. His occupant asks him: "What's up to you to enter like this? Addison: I don't know, ask the screenwriter!". The decor appears suddenly empty: "Normal, this angle of camera was not planned !; You are not yourself today. No panic, someone had to reverse the dialogues in the script!". The same characters, pronouncing the same dialogues, are played by different actors: "Someone has to photocopy the same sequence by mistake!"

This series also innovates by the fact that for the first time a duo of private people is interpreted by a man and a woman.
