Synopsis

The series "Les enés College" originated in Canada in the 1980s.

In addition to the Atlantic, spectators were able to see the actors evolve from primary school. The series is then called: "The Kids of Degrassi Streets".

The Kids of Degrassi Streets will count 26 episodes.

Some actors (for example Joey, Caroline or Wheels) began to shoot at that time and went to the end of the series in 1991.

The actors grow up, they go to college and soon to high school. The series changes its name: "Degrassi Junior High" (42 episodes) then "Degrassi High" (28 episodes).

It is at this time that the series is exported to France or it takes the name: "The college years".

The college years therefore bring together all the episodes of Degrassi Junior High and Degrassi High.

The series ends in 1991 but follows 1 film (1992).

They spent their baccalaureate. The film describes their lives during the summer.

The series in the college years stands out from the competing series of the time by a very realistic tone.

She tackles serious subjects such as alcoholism, AIDS, drugs, violence, cancer .....

Some series (Beverly Hills type) stage all beautiful, large, rich and intelligent young people whose only problem is whether they are going to take Limousine or Porsche to go in a box.

Conversely, in the college years, each character has problems of daily life.

In addition, the series is not only confined to a few actors. The high number of characters prevents the spectator with a feeling of weariness.

College years (original title: Degrassi Junior High) was a Canadian television series for adolescents broadcast for the first time in 1987. The series was produced by the Canadian television production company Playing with Time and focused on the students of the Degrassi high school in the city of Toronto. The series was very appreciated by young people for its realistic approach to the problems with which adolescents are confronted, such as drugs, alcohol, romantic relationships, homosexuality, harassment and sexual abstinence.

The college years was followed by two other series of the same franchise: the high school years (Degrassi High) and the college years: new generation (Degrassi: The Next Generation). The last one was broadcast until 2015 and followed the adventures of a new generation of Degrassi students.

The college years was known for his casting of young non -professional actors who then continued an acting career, including Stacie Mistysyn, Neil Hope, Anais Granofsky and Pat Mastroianni. The series won several prizes, including the Gemini Award for the best drama for young adults in 1988.
