Trivia

If Michael Scofield goes on the run to Panama, on the production side, the team continues to move according to the filming imperatives. After a 1st season near Chicago, in Illinois, all these little people settles in Dallas in season 2 to enjoy the urban and rural landscapes of the surroundings. For the 3rd season, production continues in Texas, with some additional shots made in Florida, Louisiana, and even Panama. Season 4 pushes the team to settle in Los Angeles.

At the end of season 1, the character of Dr Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies) made an overdose. Originally, she had to die, but faced with the growing popularity of the character, and the affection of the telespectors for the couple she trained with Michael Scofield, her character was preserved (it is that of the lawyer interpreted by Robin Tunney that the writers murdered). On the occasion of the 3rd season, Sara finally went to the hatch, without the actress, who has just gave birth to a child, being consulted. Faced with the discontent of fans, production decides to reintegrate the young woman in the 4th season.

A website inspired by the series has been set up to promote the character of Caroline Reynolds in the presidential campaign. "Caroline Reynolds for President" imitates the sites of real candidates in the elections with the photo of Patricia Wettig, and has the same presentation sections, donation, calendar, and support. It is visible at the following address: http://reynolds-again.com.

Before playing in Prison Break, Dominic Purcell was revealed in the John Doe series, canceled even before the end of the first season. He interpreted a man who wakes up on a desert island and realizes that he knows everything about everything except himself ... ironic, when we see that he went from a character unknown to all to the fugitive The most sought after in the United States.

Prison Break producers wanted to internationalize their series by offering the French a generic different from the American version. It is, in fact, the song interpreted by Faf Larage, "no time", that the hexagonal public hears at the beginning of the episodes. Although this change is not unanimous among fans of the series, the single sold more than 392,000 copies in 2006, the best score of the year.

The shooting in the prison was carried out at the old Joliet prison, in Illinois. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell admitted that the frame was sometimes frightening, especially in isolation cells, where they knew that real serial killers had been locked up. Besides, some extras were former prisoners of Joliet.

Paul Scheuring had planned only two seasons for prison break. During the announcement of the renewal for a third season, he said that he had difficulty writing the script, because he had not thought about it from the start of the series.

Toyota and La Fox collaborated to make a spin-off of the series, Prison Break: Proof of Innocence, exclusively available on mobile phone. The twenty-six two-minute episodes each present new characters, notably Amber McCall, a friend of L.J., but the sets remain identical to the original series. This parallel season started on May 8, 2006.

Prison Break was very successful in real prisons, and televisions have been installed in certain penal establishments so that prisoners can follow the episodes. The photo of Wentworth Miller circulates, moreover, between the prisoners and serves as a currency to buy cigarette packs.

Michael Scofield is not the leading prisoner role that Wentworth Miller had to interpret. Indeed, in the short film The Confession of Ash, he was already playing an imprisoned character. The film is, however, far from having obtained the same success as Prison Break.
