Christopher Lloyd is an American actor known for his role in the return trilogy to the future in which he interprets the character of Doc Emmett Brown. He is also known to have played in other popular films and television series, like Taxi where he interprets the character of Jim Ignatowski, and my uncle Charlie where he embodies the character of Uncle Albert.
Lloyd was born on October 22, 1938 in Stamford, in Connecticut. He grew up in a family of actors: his father, Samuel R. Lloyd, was a theater actor, and his mother, Ruth Lloyd, was a theater and radio actress. Lloyd began his acting career by playing in theater productions in his hometown before moving to New York to continue his career.
Lloyd won an Emmy Award for his role in the Taxi television series in 1981, and was nominated for another Emmy for his role in the television series St. Elsewhere in 1984. In 1986, he received a nomination for the Golden Globe Awards For its role in return to the future. He was also nominated for a Saturn Award for his role in Back to the Future in 1987.
