David Duchovny earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and also earned a graduate degree in English Literature at Yale University. While at Yale, he began commuting to New York to study acting and was soon appearing in off-Broadway plays. In 1987 he abandoned his doctoral studies at Yale to pursue acting full time.

A graduate of English literature at the University of Yale, David Duchovny then prepares a doctorate in philosophy in order to pursue a teaching career. During his studies, he regularly went to New York to take drama lessons and quickly appeared in Off-Brroadway parts. It was in 1987 that he abandoned Yale during the university cycle, in order to devote himself fully to comedy.

The following year, the actor made his first cinematographic appearance in Mike Nichols' comedy Working Girl, but it was the role of a transvestite detective in the TWIN Peaks television series which allows David Duchovny to make himself known: the Professional criticism pierces it in the drama The Rapture and the American public remarked in the role of the bad Brad in the popular comedy Beethoven in 1992.

It was in 1993 that David Duchovny became world famous thanks to the character of the dark and mysterious Fox Mulder agent in the X-Files series: at the borders of reality, a role he resumed in 1998 in the film adaptation The X Files, the Rob Bowman film, alongside Gillian Anderson. This success at the box office allowed the actor to see his name associated with important projects, as for the comedy Evolution of Ivan Reitman in 2001 or the experimental film by Steven Soderbergh, Full Frontal, in 2002. Two years Later, he presented his first feature film as director and screenwriter, the prince of Greenwich Village. He then joined Julianne Moore, his partnership for the second time, on the set of Trust The Man.

David Duchovny is an American actor, director, producer and writer. He is best known for his role in the television series "X-Files" in which he embodies the character of Fox Mulder. Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 in New York, in the Manhattan district. He grew up in the Teaneck district, New Jersey, with his parents and two sisters. His mother, Margaret, was a writer and teacher, and his father, Amram, was a writer, translator and journalist. Duchovny studied at Princeton University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1982.

After graduating, Duchovny began working as an actor in New York, where he played in plays and advertisements. In 1988, he made his cinema debut in the film "Working Girl", in which he played a small role. He then played in several films and television series, notably "Denial", "The X-Files", "Californication" and "Aquarius". Duchovny also wrote and made several films and television series, including "The X-Files" and "Californication".

In addition to his acting career, Duchovny is also the author. He has published several novels, including "Holy Cow: A Modern-Day Dairy Tale" and "Bucky F*Cking Dent". Duchovny has also been nominated for numerous prizes for his acting performance, including two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.
