Marilu Henner is an American actress born on April 6, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. It is mainly known for its role as Elaine Nardo in the sitcom Taxi, which earned it five nominations at the Golden Globe Awards. She also appeared in many other television series, notably Eventing Shade, L.A. Law and The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation.

Apart from her acting career, Henner is also a successful author, with several books to her credit, including the Best Seller Total Memory Makeover: Uncover Your Past, Take Charge of Your Future. She is also known for her interest in health and well-being, and has published several works on the subject, including The 30-Day Total Health Makeover and The Change Your Biology Diet.

Henner began his career in the 1970s by playing in Broadway musicals, including Over here!, Grease and Chicago. She then made her cinema debut in the film Carnal Knowledge, directed by Mike Nichols. She then played in several films, including No Small Affair and Johnny Dangerously.
