David James Elliott, his real name David William Smith, was born on September 21 in Milton (a small town in the suburbs of Toronto) in Ontario, Canada. He is the second of three children. Before living in Canada, the Smith family lived in the Bahamas.

As a teenager, David James Elliott was interested in music and rock'n roll. He is also, for a certain time, leader of a group and leaves the school to devote all his time. David and his group are conquering Toronto, the capital of Ontario, playing in balls or for culprits in pensions. The group changes its name several times, to finally dissolve.

He abandoned music and returned to Milton to finish high school. He is only 19. His class of history of the theater studies "the King Lear" where he plays the role of Lear; His teacher, impressed by his performance, encourages him to persevere in the act of actor to make him his career. It was then that his brother told him about the Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, in Toronto, who has the best comedy lesson in Canada. He then decides to audition for this school. In 1992, he married actress Nanci Chambers, promising to remarry a second time when they would have the means. The same year, he obtained one of the two main roles in the series The Untouchables. This role brought them enough money to enable them to enlarge their family: their daughter Stéphanie was born in 1993.

After this series, David again makes a series of appearances in several major series: Seinfeld, Melrose Place, Knots Landing ... He then auditioned for the role of Lt. Harmon Rabb Jr. in J.A.G and obtains the role. On June 26, 1999, David offered Nanci the marriage he had promised him 7 years earlier.

David James Elliott is a Canadian actor known for his role as Harmon Rabb Jr. in the TV series Jag and more recently for his role as Mark Hobbs in the SCORPION television series. Elliott was born on September 21, 1960 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He grew up in the suburbs of Scarborough with his parents and sister.

Elliott began his career as an actor by playing in local theater productions before heading to television series. He made his television debut in 1986 in a reality show called The New Movie Show. He then appeared in several television series, notably Street Legal, Forever Knight and Due South.

In 1995, Elliott obtained his first important role in the television series Jag, where he played the main character, Harmon Rabb Jr., a military lawyer of the American navy. He played in the series for nine seasons and received a nomination from the Golden Globe Awards for his work in the series. After the end of Jag in 2005, Elliott continued to play in television series such as Close to Home, CSI: Miami and The Protector.

In 2012, Elliott joined the cast of the Scorpion television series, where he played the role of Mark Hobbs, an FBI agent working with the Scorpion team to resolve complex affairs. Elliott played in the series for four seasons before it ends in 2018.

Apart from his acting career, Elliott is also a sports enthusiast and played football and hockey during his childhood. He is married to actress Nanci Chambers, with whom he had two children. Elliott is also an ardent defender of several charitable causes, including help for sick children and the fight against cancer.

He had another wedding ceremony with his wife Nancy on 26 June 1999 in Santa Barbara, California. This was to compensate for the original marriage (in City Hall in 1992), when they didn't have much money. Their daughter Stephanie was the flower-girl.
