Nick Tate (born June 18, 1942) is an Australian actor, mainly known for having played the role of Alan Carter in the television series Cosmos 1999.

Nick Tate began his career in the cinema world by being a director director at Australia Broadcasting Commission for six years. He is then noticed and plays a surfing role (he was registered with a surf club whose captain was actor Rod Taylor).

After a break due to his military service, he plays a role in the series "My Brother Jack", whose success allows him to go try his luck in England.

Having failed to break through, he returns to Australia and returned to success by playing in "The Canterbury Tales" and "Dynasty" (not to be confused with the American Dynasty series).

Through John Tate, his father, who provided supports of supporting roles in the Thunderbirds series, Nick Tate contacts Sylvia Anderson and the adventure of Cosmos 1999 begins.

He was originally to play the role of Alphonse Catani, the co -pilot of Alan Carter, but as the actor pressed to interpret Carter refuses at the last moment, the director of the first episode, Lee H. Katzin, lets himself be convinced by Nick and him gives the role.

He is first taken for the test for six episodes, then signs a final contract, the fact that he himself ensures all the cascades of his character who weighed in the scale.

He will be playing with the 48 episodes forming the two seasons of Cosmos 1999.

Nick Tate then appears in several films, including The Devil's Playground or a cry in the night. We later find him in guest star in many television series (Arabesque, FX, special effects, X-Files, Farscape, Lost, etc ...).

He also lends his voice for trailers (Jurassic Park, mission impossible) and in advertising spots (Guinness, etc ...).

Tate and four other famous English -speaking actors to lend their voice (Don Lafontaine, John Leader, Mark Elliot and Al Chalk) met in a parody called "5 Men and A Limo" (1997).

Nick Tate now divides his time between Australia and Los Angeles.

Nick Tate is an Australian actor born June 18, 1942 in London, England. He grew up in Australia and began his acting career in the late 1960s. He was best known for his role as Alan Carter in the British television series "Space: 1999", which was broadcast between 1975 and 1977. Tate has also played in many other television and movies series, including "The Six Million Dollar Man", "The Love Boat" and "The Man From Snowy River". Apart from his acting career, Tate is also an accomplished lawyer and writer. He has published several novels and news, and has won several literary prizes for his writings. Apart from his work, Tate is passionate about sports and likes to play golf and cricket. He currently lives in Australia with his family.
