Lauren Holly is an American actress born October 28, 1963 in Bristol, Pennsylvania.

She studied in New York at Sarah Lawrence College, where she graduated in English literature in 1985. Subsequently, she decided to become an actress and pursued her studies for this purpose at Geneva High School still in New York, City where his parents were both teachers. His father, Grant, teaches English literature in Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, while his mother, Michael Ann, teaches art history at the University of Rochester, also presiding over the department. As for his younger brother, Nick Holly, he is a literary agent in Hollywood.

Following her studies, Lauren Holly won a few roles in OPERA SOAPs, notably in the SOAP "All My Children" (1986-1989) in the role of Julia Rand Chandler. Her first big role took place however in 1985 when she played in "Seven Minutes in Heaven", she then picked up a main role in the series "High Secret City: the city of the great secret". Subsequently, when the series was canceled, she filmed some films which all had a mixed success.

She appeared in several TV series including "Experts: Miami", "Providence", "My two dads" or "Captain Furillo".

It was then that she accepted in 2005, on the insistence of Mark Harmon in particular, her former partner of the series "Chicago Hope" (1994), the role of director Jennifer Shepard in "NCIS", doing her big Back to the foreground on TV.
