Biography for Lee Majors

Majors' best-known role before Steve Austin was in The Big Valley, a 1960s series with Barbara Stanwyck. In later years, he starred in another popular series, The Fall Guy (1981-86), as Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stunt man who works as a bounty hunter when stunt work is slow. One of television's most durable actors, Majors also starred in many other TV series including The Big Valley (as Heath Barkley, 1965-69), The Virginian (1970-71), Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law (1971-74), Tour of Duty (1990), Raven (1992-93), and Too Much Sun (2000). He received critical acclaim for his performance in the 1969 made-for-TV film, The Ballad of Andy Crocker. In the 1980s and 1990s, he reprised his most famous role in three Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman reunion TV-movies.

Majors has been married four times, but his most famous marriage was to actress Farrah Fawcett, another huge 1970s pop icon. In 1976 Majors and Fawcett made TV history by being a husband and wife each starring in separate top rated shows, The Six Million Dollar Man (Majors) and Charlie's Angels (Fawcett). They were married from July 28, 1973 to February 16, 1982, but they separated in 1979. They broke up because Majors wanted his spouse to be home with him in the evenings when she often needed to work on her show. The producers of her show made some concessions—for example she was allowed to leave the set to prepare dinner for Majors every evening—but eventually the demands of both their careers proved too onerous and they parted ways.

Majors continues to play roles in made for TV movies and makes cameo appearances on other shows.

It was in 1965 that the Americans discovered the young Lee Majors in the series, The Big Valley. Born in 1939 in Michigan, Lee Majors begins at 24 years old and finds himself very busy with the series. However, he finds the time to slip away for the filming of Will Penny with Charlton Heston, Donald Pleasance and Bruce Dern. Obviously at ease in the western, in 1970 he completed the cast of the Virginian. A year later, he turned in his first contemporary series: Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law. The series will last three seasons and Lee Majors will be managed by a young director named Steven Spielberg. In 1974, he agreed to resume the role he had played in a TV movie, that of "the man who was worth three billion". The same year everything smiled at him: he married actress Farrah Fawcett (until 1980) and he obtained a dream contract for the series since he earns $ 50,000 per episode. The role of Steve Austin brings him glory and also a spin-off for the series, Super Jaimie, where he is going to take a long time. When the franchise of the series runs out of steam in 1978, the actor compromises himself in a few B series of bad taste and then in 1981, the actor became Colt Seavers, mercenary of good humor for the man who falls at the top. The series ends in 1986 and the actor is then more discreet, playing in a few TV movies, three, where he finds his panoply of bionic man. In 1990, he left for Viet-Nam for the purposes of hell of duty and then sunscreen in The Raven. Subsequently, he plays the prestigious second roles in some fictions ...

Lee Majors is an American actor known for his role in the television series The Six Million Dollar Man, in which he interpreted the main character, Steve Austin.
