As a film character actor, Klugman was the epitome of the everyman. He was one of the pioneers of television acting in the 1950s, and is best remembered for his 1970s TV work as Oscar Madison on "The Odd Couple" (1970) and as the medical examiner on "Quincy M.E." (1976).

Jack Klugman was an American actor born April 27, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was known to have played in many theater, television and cinema productions, notably in the TV series Quincy M.E. and The Odd Couple.

Klugman began his acting career in the 1940s, playing in theatrical productions on Broadway. He made his cinema debut in 1950 in the film The Killing, where he played a minor role. He continued to play in films such as Cry Terror! (1958), Days of Wine and Roses (1962) and 12 Angry Men (1957), in which he played the role of Juror Number Five.

In 1970, Klugman played the main role in the television series Quincy M.E., in which he played a medical examiner who resolved crimes using his medical skills. The series was a commercial success and lasted eight seasons. Klugman won two Emmy Awards for his role in the series.

In 1972, Klugman played the role of Oscar Madison in the comedy The Odd Couple, adapted from the eponymous play by Neil Simon. The role earned him a Golden Globe and an appointment to the Emmy Awards. The series was a commercial success and lasted five seasons.

Klugman continued to play in theater, television and cinema productions throughout his career, winning numerous awards and awards for his performances. He died on December 24, 2012 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 90.
