Biography for Leslie Nielsen

Leslie Nielsen was raised in Tulita (formally Fort Norman), Northwest Territories. His father was a mountie and a strict disciplinarian. His mother was Welsh. Leslie studied at the Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto before moving on to New York's Neighborhood Playhouse. His acting career started at a much earlier age when he was forced to lie to his father in order to avoid severe punishment. Leslie has starred in over fifty movies and many more TV films. One of his two brothers became the deputy prime minister of Canada.

Leslie Nielsen is the quintessence of parodic humor weighing three tonnes. But before giving humor at the flush of the daisies, Leslie embodied everything. Nearly 80 films and hundreds of TV appearances. An astonishing course.

He continued his studies in Edmonton and was an artilleryman during the Second World War. Back in the country, he takes the radio, took comedy lessons at the Lorne Green's Academy of Radio Arts in Toronto. Then direction New York where he will take the lessons of Sanford Meisner and the Actor Studio.

He began his career with dramatic roles. It is noted in particular by intergalactic commanding in Planete prohibited and in captain in the adventure of Poseidon. Does his career have a turning point with is there a pilot on the plane? And its suite, kitsch and cult parodies of disaster films. The trio Jerry Zucker-Jim Abrahams-David Zucker is launched and Nielsen will cross their journey with Squad Police (TV series), later Lieutenant Franck Drebin resumes service with there is a cop to save the queen? and his two suites. Backings, and Gags to Gogo, Leslie Nielsen visibly delights in the genre, especially with Dracula, dead and happy to be Mel Brooks.

At the end of 1999, we believe that Leslie Nielsen will hang her red nose: he climbed on the boards to embody a humanist lawyer in Clarence Darrow. But in 1999, he returned with a parody of the Fugitive (the Detonator), and has since passed through writing for a vitriol parody of 2001: the Odyssey of the space with the arm of Ophélie Winter. In the adventurer of the Far North (2001), it was alongside another beautiful, Natasha Henstridge, that he made the clown.

Leslie Nielsen was a Canadian actor born February 11, 1926 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He spent most of his career in Hollywood, where he became famous for his roles in comic films, especially in the films of the series "Police Academy" and "The adventures of Buckaro Banzai in the west 8th dimension" .

Nielsen began his career in the 1950s by playing the roles of bad guys in westerns and adventure films, such as "the disadvantages" with Marlon Brando and "Les Incorruptibles" with Kirk Douglas. However, it was in the 1980s that he became famous for his comic roles. He played in films such as "Drôles de Dames" with Bette Midler and "The adventures of Buckaro Banzai in the west 8th dimension" with Peter Weller.

Nielsen was also known for his appearances in television programs, especially in the series "Remington Steele" investigations "and" Nero Wolfe investigations ". In addition, he has also played in several television films, such as "Les Inquires de Quincy" and "Columbo surveys".

Despite his reputation as an actor, Nielsen was also a very talented and versatile actor. He has received several nominations at the Emmy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards for his performances in dramatic television productions, especially in the series "Remington Steele investigations" and "Nero Wolfe investigations".

Nielsen died on November 28, 2010 at the age of 84 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, following pneumonia. His career was widely celebrated by fans and criticism, who have often greeted him as one of the best comic actors of his generation.
