Biography for Sorrel Booke

Sorrell Booke was born in Buffalo New York in in 1930, the son of a local physician. He found his calling early in life, like most actors, when his family encouraged him to entertain relatives by doing impressions and telling jokes. He went on to study at Yale and Columbia University, and mastered five languages. During the Korean War, Booke worked in counter-intelligence where his lingual talents served him well. His intelligence and subtlety are often overlooked when considering his signature role as Jefferson Davis "Boss" Hogg during his run on "The Dukes of Hazzard" (1979). He died of cancer in 1994 just after his 64th birthday.

This actor did not have an exhilarating career. His interpretation in the series will remain his greatest role. The peculiarity of his journey comes from his participation in a French film, the felines of René Clément with Alain Delon and especially in the refusal of the actor to be in front of the camera after sheriff, make me scare.

He had become a cartoon twice (including Rock'o'Rico by Don Bluth). He died in 1994 because of cancer.

Sorrel Booke was an American actor known for his role as Boss Hogg in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. He was born on January 4, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in the Queens district. Booke studied dramatic art at Yale University before starting his acting career in Broadway. He also played in several films, notably the investigations of the private Rockford detective, where he interpreted the role of Buzz Murdock. Booke died on February 11, 1994 in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 64.
