Richard Basehart came to Hollywood in 1947 after starting his acting career in Broadway.
He started in the cinema in black films like "He Walked by Night" and notably filmed in "La Strada" by Fellini.
He participated in various TV series like "Columbo", "Gunsmoke" or "Joe Forrester" and shared the show with David Hedison in the series "Voyage to the bottom of the seas" by Irwin Allen.
