Simon Baker is an Australian actor known for his role in the television series "The Mentalist" in which he embodies the character of Patrick Jane, a former seer who helps police investigators to resolve crimes using his detective talents. Baker also played in films such as "The Guardian" and "Something New" and received several awards for his work, notably a Golden Globe in 2010 for his role in "The Mentalist". Apart from his acting career, Baker is also a producer and director, and made several episodes of "The Mentalist" as well as the film "Breath" in 2017. Baker was born in 1969 in Launceston in Tasmania, and grew up in The New South Wales region in Australia. He began his acting career in the 1990s and quickly gained popularity thanks to his remarkable performances in dramatic and comic roles.
