Synopsis

Kids Incorporated was an American television series for children initially broadcast between 1984 and 1986 on Disney Channel, and then rebroadcast on various television channels until 1993. The series staged a group of children from 9 to 15 years old who formed a Music group called Kids Inc. The main characters were Ren, the group leader, and his friends, Mickey, Gloria, Richie and Stacy.

Each episode followed the daily adventures of children while they were playing music, made shows, and sailed in the tribulations of adolescence. The series was filled with original songs and musical performance, as well as positive messages for children. It was also known for its integration of popular music of the time in the episodes.

Kids Incorporated was a very popular series at the time, and launched the career of several children's actors, including Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas, and an actress who has become famous for her role in the Friends television series, Jennifer Aniston. The series received several awards, including a Young Artist Award in 1986 for the best television series for children.

In addition to his television episodes, Kids Incorporated also produced several music albums, including original songs and popular song covers. Several of these songs were successful, in particular "Time Passages" and "She's So Far Away".

Although Kids Incorporated has not been in production for many years, she has remained in the memories of those who looked at her because of her unique combination of music, adventures for children, and positive messages.

Trivia

The P*lace (called The Malt Shop in the pilot). It was originally named The Palace, but the "a" in the neon sign burned out

Jennifer Love Hewitt was not the original actress cast as Robin. Partway through the filming of the 1989 season, the original actress was released and Hewitt was given the role (perhaps explaining why she was one of the few characters to not share their name with the actor playing the role.)

Following the filming of the 1989 season the show was put on hiatus for two years, with the series picking up again in 1991. Only two stars from the 1989 season -- Jennifer Love Hewitt and Kenny Ford - returned to continue production (hence the sudden change in the cast list at this time).
