But the lives of five young people without an adult to help them is not easy, and they quickly realize that they have to help each other and stay united to get out of it. The American TV series La Vie A Five (Party of Five in English) was a dramatic series which was broadcast between 1994 and 2000 on the Fox channel. The series followed the adventures of five brothers and sisters, the Salinger, who were orphans after the death of their parents in a car accident. The five children then had to learn to take care of each other and manage their family life without the help of their parents. The main characters in the series were Charlie (Matthew Fox), the older brother and head of the family, Bailey (Scott Wolf), the second brother, Julia (Neve Campbell), the older sister, Claudia (Lacey Chabert), the sister Cadet, and Owen (Jacob Smith), the youngest. Each of the characters had their own problems and challenges to overcome, whether with school, romantic relationships, career, etc. In addition to following the difficulties of the Salinger brothers and sisters, the series also tackled important and controversial subjects, such as drugs, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, immigration, etc. The series was acclaimed by criticism for its sensitive and realistic approach to these subjects and for its performances of the actors. Life has five has won several awards, including a Golden Globe for the best dramatic series in 1996, as well as appointments to the Emmy Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. The series was also a success in terms of audience, reaching more than 8 million viewers with its peak of popularity. Although the series has been completed for several years, it remains popular with fans and continues to be disseminated in syndication in many countries. In 2019, a new version of the series, entitled Party of Five, was broadcast on the Freeform channel, with a new generation of characters and a new angle of story.
