American Gothic is an American television series broadcast between 1995 and 1996. The series was created by Shaun Cassidy and features Gary Cole, Paige Turco, Jake Weber and Brenda Bakke. American Gothic takes place in the small fictitious town of Trinity, in South Carolina. The intrigue of the series revolves around a serial killer who sows terror in the city. Sheriff Lucas Buck (interpreted by Gary Cole) is suspected of being the killer, but he claims to be possessed by a demon. The series was greeted for its dark and dismal approach to the city of Trinity and its inhabitants. It was also criticized for its lack of narrative coherence and for its excessive use of stereotypes. American Gothic was not renewed for a second season due to his bad audiences. TriviaAccording to "The Sci-Fi Channel Encyclopedia of TV Science Fiction" by Roger Fulton & John Betancourt, there were 2 episodes that were originally not aired.
