Both were military lawyers who worked for the United States Navy Generals Agence General. The series was created by Donald P. Bellisario, who was also known for other popular television series like Magnum, P.I. and NCIS. Jag was acclaimed by criticism for his realism and loyalty to the world of military justice. The series was also praised for its solid casting, which included actors such as David James Elliott, Catherine Bell and Patrick Labyortaaux.
