Le touchant et émouvant Révérend Alden dans la série, c'était lui. Né le 2 avril 1917, cet excellent comédien a fait ses armes dans les années 50 au cinéma et à la télévision, après avoir beaucoup fait de théâtre dans ses jeunes années. Il aura un rôle récurrent dans "Gunsmoke" en 1959, puis plus récemment en 2002, un rôle de grand père gâteau dans une sitcom.
Dabbs Greer était un acteur américain connu pour avoir joué dans de nombreuses séries télévisées et films au cours de sa carrière de plus de cinquante ans. Il est né le 2 avril 1917 à Fairview, dans le Missouri, et est décédé le 28 avril 2007 à l'âge de 90 ans. Greer a commencé sa carrière d'acteur en 1943, et a joué dans de nombreux films et émissions de télévision au cours des années suivantes. Il était souvent casté dans des rôles de pasteurs, de professeurs, de policiers et de personnages autoritaires. Greer a été un acteur très respecté et apprécié de ses collègues et du public, et a continué à travailler jusqu'à la fin de sa vie. Parmi ses rôles les plus connus, on peut citer le pasteur Robert Alden dans la série télévisée "Little House on the Prairie", le professeur Harold Hill dans la comédie musicale "The Music Man", et le juge Gaffney dans la série "Perry Mason".
