Philip Ahn (1905-1978) est un acteur américano-coréen dont le visage est inséparable aujourd’hui de celui de Maître Kan dans Kung Fu, bien qu’il ait joué dans une multitude de films et de séries, cantonné en général à des rôles stéréotypés d’Asiatiques. Il a participé en 1959 à Never so Few (La proie des vautours), le premier film que John Sturges a tourné avec Steve McQueen.
Philip Ahn était un acteur américain d'origine coréenne né le 29 mars 1905 à Los Angeles, en Californie. Il a été l'un des premiers acteurs asiatiques à avoir réussi à percer dans le milieu hollywoodien, bien qu'il ait souvent été cantonné à des rôles stéréotypés en raison des préjugés envers les acteurs asiatiques à l'époque.
Ahn a commencé sa carrière en tant qu'acteur dans les années 1930, et il a rapidement acquis une certaine notoriété grâce à ses performances dans des films tels que The General Died at Dawn (1936), The Lady from Shanghai (1947) et High Noon (1952). Il a également travaillé pour des séries télévisées telles que The Adventures of Superman et The Rifleman.
Malgré les préjugés et les obstacles auxquels il a dû faire face en raison de son apparence, Ahn a continué à travailler dur tout au long de sa carrière et a finalement été récompensé pour son travail en recevant une étoile sur le Hollywood Walk of Fame en 1985.
