La Biographie de William Windom
Né le 28 septembre 1923, ayant toujours des projets de comédie (un film est en préparation pour l'an prochain), il a donné la réplique à Peter Falk dans le fameux téléfilm qui allait donner vie au personnage de Columbo, "Prescription Murder" en 1968.
William Windom était un acteur américain connu pour ses nombreuses apparitions à la télévision et au cinéma. Né le 28 septembre 1923 à New York, il a grandi dans le Connecticut et a étudié à l'Université Yale avant de poursuivre des études d'art dramatique à l'Université de Caroline du Nord.
Windom a débuté sa carrière d'acteur dans les années 1940 et a joué dans de nombreuses pièces de théâtre avant de faire ses débuts à la télévision dans les années 1950. Il a fait ses débuts au cinéma en 1960 dans le film "The Time Machine" de George Pal, dans lequel il a joué le rôle principal.
Windom était surtout connu pour ses rôles à la télévision, où il a joué dans de nombreuses séries populaires au fil des décennies. Il a notamment joué dans "Star Trek", "The Twilight Zone", "The Farmers Daughter" et "Murder, She Wrote". Il a également joué dans des séries télévisées comme "The Love Boat" et "Charmed".
En plus de sa carrière d'acteur, Windom était également un artiste talentueux et a exposé ses peintures dans de nombreuses galeries d'art. Il était également un joueur de golf passionné et a participé à plusieurs tournois professionnels.
Windom est décédé le 16 août 2012, à l'âge de 88 ans, des suites d'une crise cardiaque. Sa carrière d'acteur a duré plus de sept décennies et il a laissé derrière lui un héritage impressionnant de travail dans le monde du cinéma et de la télévision.

- Son arrière grand père était sénateur des Etats-Unis et deviendra secrétaire du trésor sous la présidence de James Garfield et Benjamin Harrison.
- En 2004 il a repris son rôle de guest star comme commodore Matt Decker dans le deuxième épisode de Star Trek : New Voyages.
