Apple Services Sector Hits All-Time Record in Quarterly Revenue

Apple recently announced a significant increase in its net sales revenue in the services sector, which encompasses popular services like Apple TV+, Apple Music, and Apple Arcade. The company’s net sales for the services sector in the past quarter rose to an unprecedented amount of USD 23.1 billion, showcasing an impressive jump from the previous year’s USD 20.8 billion. Overall, the company’s earnings saw a 2 percent increase year-over-year, with a remarkable quarterly revenue of $119.6 billion and earnings per diluted share of $2.18, up by 16 percent year-over-year.

Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook, expressed his satisfaction with these results, attributing the revenue growth to the success of iPhone sales and the company’s groundbreaking innovation. Cook also revealed that Apple’s installed base of active devices has surpassed 2.2 billion, marking an all-time high across all product categories and geographical segments. Additionally, the launch of the Apple Vision Pro is expected to further enhance the user experience and uphold the company’s commitment to excellence.

Changes in Pricing and Broad-Based Growth

In the latter part of the year, Apple decided to raise the price of its Apple TV+ service in the U.S., increasing it from $6.99 to $9.99 per month. Moreover, the company also adjusted the pricing for its Apple One bundle, which includes Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, cloud storage, and more. Despite these changes, the management team emphasized that the growth in services witnessed a broad-based expansion across various geographic regions and service categories. Notably, there were all-time revenue records for cloud services, payments, video, and advertising, as well as December quarter milestones for the App Store and Apple Care.
