Diffusion du match NFL en version animée inspirée de Toy Story sur ESPN & Disney+

Toy Story characters will come to life on the football field this season with a special animated experience. On October 1st, fans can watch the Atlanta Falcons take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at London’s Wembley Stadium through two different livestreams. ESPN+ will show the game as usual, while Disney+ will offer a unique twist with Toy Story Funday Football.

An Animated Experience

Disney+ will use special technology to transform the NFL’s Next Gen Stats and on-field tracking data into a fully animated, real-time version of the game. The animated action will be set in Andy’s Room from the Toy Story universe, allowing fans to see their favorite characters, such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear, participating from the sidelines and in other non-gameplay elements.

The animation will closely mimic the actual game, with most plays recreated with a short delay of around 30 seconds. Viewers can expect an immersive experience that combines the excitement of football with the beloved Toy Story theme.

A Toy Story Halftime Show

The halftime show during the Disney+ stream will feature Duke Caboom, a popular character from Toy Story 4. Fans can anticipate an exhilarating moment as Duke attempts a special motorcycle jump that is sure to wow the audience.

Every aspect of the broadcast will reflect the Toy Story theme, from the announcers and graphics to the scoreboard, referees’ penalty announcements, celebrations, and more. The goal is to provide viewers with a fully immersive and entertaining experience that captures the spirit of Toy Story on the football field.

Appealing to Younger Audiences

This unique “alterna-cast” is part of a larger trend among media companies to attract younger audiences and families to sports programming. In 2021, ESPN and Marvel partnered to create a Marvel-themed alternate presentation of a Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans game. Additionally, the upcoming Super Bowl broadcast on CBS will feature Nickelodeon-themed elements to engage younger viewers.

Toid

Story Funday Football will air on Disney+ and ESPN+ in the US on October 1st at 9:30 a.m. A replay will be available on Disney+ shortly after the conclusion of the game. For viewers who prefer the traditional version of the game, ESPN+ will still provide the standard broadcast at the same time.
