Netflix has just released character descriptions and additional casting for their upcoming limited series, Zero Day. The 6-episode series aims to explore the search for truth in a world affected by a global cyber-attack and a wave of conspiracy theories. Meet the Characters
George Mullen: Robert De Niro stars as George Mullen, a former American President who is asked to lead a commission investigating a devastating global cyber-attack.
President Mitchell: Angela Bassett’s character, President Mitchell, is a brilliant political tactician with a strong allegiance to Mullen.
Evan Green: Dan Stevens plays Evan Green, a charismatic TV host who becomes Mullen’s chief public antagonist and critic.
Richard Dreyer: Matthew Modine stars as Richard Dreyer, a colorful and confident public figure who is the Speaker of the House.
Carl Lopez: McKinley Belcher III plays Carl Lopez, a tough and brilliant DOJ lawyer who is the lead investigator for the Zero Day Commission.
Monica Kidder: Gaby Hoffman stars as Monica Kidder, a Silicon Valley billionaire with a brilliant vision.
Robert Lyndon: Clark Gregg stars as Robert Lyndon, a corporate raider and billionaire skilled in political manipulation.
Natan: Mark Ivanir plays Natan, an intelligence operative and close confidant of Mullen.
Additional Cast Members
Other cast members include Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Clemons, Joan Allen, and Connie Britton, but their roles are yet to be announced.
Series Details
Zero Day is created, written, and executive produced by Eric Newman and Noah Oppenheimer, with Pulitzer Prize winner Michael S. Schmidt as a fellow creator and executive producer. Jonathan Glickman and Lesli Linka Glatter are also executive producers, with Glatter set to direct all six episodes.
Season 2 of “The Buccaneers” Confirmed
Inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s final novel, The Buccaneers, the acclaimed period drama series is set to return for a second season. Prime Video has ordered an eight-episode untitled series with Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer and Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham set to star and executive produce. The series follows the story of two best friends, one of whom leads a double life as a highly trained assassin. The duo goes on the run and must repair their broken friendship while also evading a mysterious enemy who wants them dead.
