Amazon Prime Video Acquires International Rights to Sci-fi Thriller “Ash”

Amazon Prime Video has made a groundbreaking acquisition at the emerging EFM by sealing a deal with XYZ for the international rights to Eiza González and Aaron Paul’s sci-fi thriller “Ash”, the second feature film from producer, rapper, and filmmaker Flying Lotus.

Plot

Eiza González plays a woman who wakes up on a distant planet to find the crew of her space station brutally murdered. She must decide whether to trust the man (Aaron Paul) sent to rescue her. Also starring in the movie are Iko Uwais, Beulah Koale, and Kate Elliott. The film is currently in post-production.

Production and Financing

The movie is set to feature an original score by Flying Lotus, based on an original screenplay by Jonni Remmler. XYZ Films and GFC Films are the producers, with Neill Blomkamp and Echo Lake serving as executive producers. Additionally, XYZ Films is co-financing alongside IPR.VC and handling domestic sales.

About the Cast

Eiza González, known for her roles in “Baby Driver” and “Ambulance”, is set to appear in the upcoming Benioff and Weiss series “Three Body Problem” for Netflix and “Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare” from Guy Ritchie and Jerry Bruckheimer. Aaron Paul, best known for his roles in “Breaking Bad” and “Westworld”, recently starred in the Sundance sci-fi film “Dual”.
