Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire – All You Need to Know

Three years after the release of Godzilla vs. Kong comes the highly anticipated sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which is coming to theaters this week. Luckily, we have you covered on all the ways you can watch this monster flick!

Plot and Cast

Starring Rebecca Hall and Brian Tyree Henry, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire marks the 38th film in the Godzilla franchise and the 13th in the King Kong franchise. The new installment puts Kong and Godzilla up against a “colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world” all while shedding light on the mysterious origins of the two monsters, according to the description.

Where to Watch

As of now, the only way to watch Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is to head out to a movie theater when it releases on Friday, March 29. You can find a local showing on Fandango. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until it becomes available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Vudu, Apple, YouTube, and Amazon, or becomes available to stream on Max.

Streaming Information

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, meaning it will join Max. Since the company no longer drops its movies on the streaming platform the same day they’re released in theaters, we are going to have to wait at least 45 days before we can watch from the comfort of our living rooms.

While there is no official streaming release date yet, it’s possible we won’t be able to stream it until late May 2024.

Netflix Release

Warner Bros. Discovery films typically head right to Max after their release, however, it is completely possible that Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will join Netflix at some point in the future due to a deal penned between the two streaming giants.
