Ray Romano ready to star in Liz Feldman’s dark comedy series on Netflix

Ray Romano has signed on to play the main character in Liz Feldman’s new dark comedy series “No Good Deed” on Netflix. Romano will portray Paul, a stressed contractor, looking to retire, pay off his debts, and leave Los Angeles. The series will consist of eight episodes that will follow “three very different families vying to buy the very same 1920s Spanish style villa that they think will solve all their problems.”

But as the sellers of the villa have already discovered, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a total nightmare. Netflix ordered the comedy to the series last year, and Feldman describes the series as being inspired by her late-night browsing of Zillow listings during the early pandemic. “No Good Deed” is Feldman’s brainchild and serves as executive producer along with Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum of Gloria Sanchez Productions, Christie Smith, and Silver Tree, who will also direct the pilot and additional episodes.

Romano’s recent work

Romano’s most recent directorial debut “Somewhere in Queens,” which he also wrote and produced, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and had a theatre release in April 2023. His work can now be streamed on Hulu. Romano was also featured in episodes of Pete Davidson’s Peacock comedy series “Bupkis” and will next be seen in Apple’s “Project Artemis,” alongside Scarlett Johansson, Woody Harrelson, and Channing Tatum, with Greg Berlanti set to direct. Romano is represented by CAA, The Conversation Company, and Del Shaw Moonves.
