Les meilleures nouveautés pour la mise à jour Mac 2024

MacOS Sonoma is the latest release from Apple, and while it has brought some exciting new features and changes, many users are already anticipating the upcoming major release, MacOS 15. With the announcement of MacOS 15 expected in early June, there are five specific features that users are eagerly hoping to see in the new release.

iOS notification mirroring

One feature that users are eager to see in MacOS 15 is iOS notification support. Currently, MacOS Sonoma allows users to have iOS widgets on their Macs, but users want to take this integration a step further by bringing iOS notification support to the Mac. This would make it easier to interact with iPhone notifications on the big screen while working.

Improved widget functionality

MacOS Sonoma introduced the ability to place widgets on the desktop, a feature that many users have come to rely on daily. However, the current implementation is still lacking compared to iOS and iPadOS. Users are hoping that MacOS 15 will bring widget stacks, allowing them to place multiple widgets on top of each other and easily shuffle through them as needed. This would streamline the Home Screen setup across all devices.

Health, Fitness, and Translation apps

With the introduction of the Health app on the iPad in iPadOS 17, users are eager to see a dedicated Health app on the Mac as well. Since M-powered Macs can run iOS apps natively, it shouldn’t be difficult for Apple to port the iPadOS version of the app to MacOS. Similarly, users want to see the Fitness app available on MacOS, making it more convenient for those who use their Macs as a large screen for working out. Additionally, there is currently no dedicated Translation app on MacOS, despite its availability on iOS and iPadOS. Users hope that MacOS 15 will address these shortcomings and provide these essential apps.

iCloud device backup

With the introduction of iCloud+, which offers up to 14TB of cloud storage, users want MacOS to support iCloud device backups. Currently, users can only rely on Time Machine for local backups, and there is no way to back up the entire computer to the cloud like iPhones and iPads. Having this option in MacOS 15 would simplify users’ lives and provide a more streamlined experience across all Apple devices.

Streamlining the OS version

Apple has been introducing new features across its operating systems, iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS, with each annual update. However, the OS version numbers don’t match up, causing confusion. Users would like to see MacOS 15 align with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, creating a more streamlined Apple OS that powers all its devices. Although the operating systems won’t merge, they are becoming more similar in terms of features and design. This alignment would provide a cohesive user experience.

In conclusion, while MacOS has already matured and offers a wide range of features and tools, there are still some missing pieces that could contribute to its overall maturity. Users are eagerly awaiting MacOS 15 and hoping that it will bring these desired features and improvements to enhance their Mac experience.
