Introducing the New Apple Pencil: More Value and Choice for iPad Users

Expanding the Choice and Value of Apple Pencil

Apple is bringing more choice to iPad users with the introduction of a new and more affordable Apple Pencil. This incredible device offers pixel-perfect accuracy, low latency, and tilt sensitivity, making it perfect for note-taking, sketching, annotating, and more. With its matte finish and magnetic flat side for easy storage on the iPad, the new Apple Pencil pairs and charges with a USB-C cable. It will be available for purchase in early November.

The new Apple Pencil adds another great option for productivity and creativity, opening up endless possibilities for digital handwriting, annotation, and document marking. It combines perfectly with the versatility of the iPad, unlocking new ways to unleash your creativity.

Inking Performance, Pairing and Charging

Building on the success of the previous generations, the new Apple Pencil offers the same advanced features loved by customers. It provides pixel-perfect accuracy, low latency, and tilt sensitivity, making it perfect for use with iPadOS features like Scribble, Quick Note, and collaborative work in Freeform. For M2 models of iPad Pro, the new Apple Pencil even supports hover, allowing for even greater precision in sketching and illustrating.

The new Apple Pencil features a sliding cap that reveals a USB-C port, enabling easy pairing and charging with a USB-C cable. When magnetically attached to the iPad for storage, the new Apple Pencil enters a sleep state to preserve battery life.

Apple Pencil Lineup

The new Apple Pencil is the most affordable model, offering great value for everyday productivity and creativity. It is compatible with iPad (10th generation), iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad mini models that have a USB-C port. For those using iPad (9th generation), the first-generation Apple Pencil is still available and offers pressure sensitivity. iPad Pro models with M2 support the second-generation Apple Pencil, which enhances and streamlines professional workflows with pressure support, a double-tap gesture, and magnetic pairing and charging.

Customers can choose the Apple Pencil that is compatible with their iPad model, ensuring the perfect fit for their needs.

iPadOS 17 Brings New Levels of Personalization and Capability

iPadOS 17 takes personalization to new heights, offering users more ways to complete tasks easier and faster than ever before. Some of the exciting features include enhanced Notes capabilities for organizing, reading, annotating, and collaborating on PDFs, as well as the ability to link notes together. Freeform gets new drawing tools and the Follow Along feature, guiding collaborators on the board. The Lock Screen has been redesigned, allowing for greater customization with stunning wallpapers, favorite photo showcases, and personalized fonts and colors for the date and time. Interactive widgets provide glanceable information and the ability to complete tasks directly from the Lock Screen or Home Screen. Messages offers improved search and new sticker experiences, including emoji stickers and the creation of Live Stickers from photos. And coming soon, AutoFill will make filling in PDF forms a breeze by quickly adding details from Contacts.
