Percy Jackson and the Olympians arrive earlier on Disney+

Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the live-action adaptation of the popular children’s book series of the same name, by Rick Riordan, was originally set to be released on December 20 but made its debut a day earlier.

The show follows the story of Percy Jackson, a seemingly ordinary 12-year-old boy who learns that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon.

Season 1, which is based on the first book The Lightning Thief, revolves around Percy being falsely accused of stealing a lightning bolt from Zeus and his quest with his friends Annabeth and Grover to find the real culprit.

Disney+’s Confidence In Percy Jackson And The Olympians is a Very Good Sign

The early release of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+ seems to indicate that the streaming service has enormous confidence in its ability to resonate with viewers.

The show is already Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, boasting the best score in the entire franchise. This overwhelmingly positive critical reception indicates that the new adaptation has the potential to capture the imagination of audiences, especially considering the previous unsuccessful film adaptations of the book series.

The show has been created in collaboration with the original author Rick Riordan, who has been vocal about his displeasure with the movie adaptations, ensuring that the TV series remains true to his original vision despite minor changes from the source material.

Although the show’s early release suggests Disney+’s confidence in its success, it also indicates that the streaming service is committed to delivering quality content for its subscribers.
