Report de 6 films par Netflix, dont celui avec Millie Bobby Brown

Millie Bobby Brown’s Netflix film “Damsel” is one of six titles that have been delayed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023. This strike has had a significant impact on film production and promotion in Hollywood.
Damsel Delayed Until 2024
“Damsel” features Millie Bobby Brown in the lead role, playing the character of Princess Elodie. The film also stars Angela Bassett, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, and Nick Robinson. Brown is not only an actress in the movie but also serves as an executive producer. Although filming for “Damsel” concluded in the summer of 2022, its release date has been pushed back from October 2023 to an undisclosed time in 2024. The delays in the premieres of these movies are a direct result of the writers’ and actors’ strikes currently affecting Hollywood.
The Storyline of “Damsel”
In “Damsel,” Millie Bobby Brown portrays a devoted and dutiful damsel who agrees to marry a charming prince. Little does she know that this seemingly fairytale-like scenario is actually a trap. The royal family, bound by an age-old debt, has deceitfully chosen her as a sacrificial offering. She finds herself trapped in a cave guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, with her survival depending on her intelligence and unwavering determination. Despite being announced in 2020, “Damsel” has not yet been able to go on a promotional run due to the strikes impacting the industry.
Netflix and the Strikes
Netflix, along with other streaming platforms, has become a major target of the ongoing strikes by Hollywood writers and actors. Actors from the popular Netflix show “Orange Is the New Black” have spoken out about the pay disparity they face, revealing that many of them still need to maintain day jobs due to discrepancies in their pay and minimal residuals. A TikTok video shared by Kimiko Glenn, revealing that she had received just $27.30 in overseas royalties, brought attention to this issue. The conversation about unequal pay in the streaming industry was further sparked by her co-stars Matt McGorry and Beth. This situation has ultimately affected the release plans of many Netflix original movies, including “Damsel.”
Upcoming Netflix Releases
Despite the delays caused by the strikes, Netflix is still planning to release a slate of original movies in 2023. On August 11th, crime thriller “Heart of Stone” featuring Gal Gadot will debut on the platform. Other titles set for August include “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!,” “The Monkey King,” and “Choose Love.” Meanwhile, Millie Bobby Brown’s latest film, “Enola Holmes 2,” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
