Retard pour 7 séries Marvel de la Phase 5 du MCU

Marvel Studios recently announced delays for several Phase 5 MCU shows, causing a significant shift in the release schedule for Disney+. These delays are due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes, which have already disrupted many major productions within the MCU. As a result, upcoming movies like Thunderbolts, Captain America: Brave New World, and Fantastic Four have had their release dates pushed back. However, if the strikes continue throughout the rest of the year, more delays could be expected for Phase 5 projects on both Disney+ and in theaters.

Marvel Studios Delayed Seven Phase 5 Shows

In a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter, it was confirmed that seven upcoming MCU television series set to premiere on Disney+ have been officially delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. Some of these shows were originally scheduled to debut before the end of 2023 but have been pushed back.

Echo

One of the shows affected by the delays is Echo. This series was initially supposed to premiere on Disney+ on November 29 but has now been postponed to January 2024. Unlike previous live-action MCU shows, which release one episode per week, all six episodes of Echo were set to drop on the same premiere date. While many reports and rumors suggested that Echo would still meet its original release date despite the strikes, the decision to move it to 2024 may be influenced by Disney’s cost-cutting measures.

What If…? Season 2

The release date for Season 2 of the animated series What If…? has also been shifted. Originally planned for early 2023, the second season has now been delayed indefinitely. However, it is expected to premiere sometime around Christmas 2023. Since the MCU typically releases new Disney+ episodes on Wednesdays or Fridays, there’s a possibility that What If…? Season 2 could debut on December 22, December 27, or December 29.

X-Men ’97

X-Men ’97, another animated project, has suffered an official delay. Initially set to premiere on Disney+ in fall 2023, it has now been pushed back to early 2024 without a specific date announced. This upcoming series will continue the story of the X-Men animated series from the 1990s, and there are already plans for a Season 2.

Ironheart

The solo project centered around Riri Williams, introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was expected to arrive on Disney+ in fall 2023. However, it has been officially delayed with no new release window given. The ongoing strikes are cited as the reason for this setback.

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries

Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, a spin-off of WandaVision, has experienced several changes in its production process. Its title has been shifted twice, and in July, it was announced that its release window would be moved from 2023 to mid-2024. However, the delay has now been confirmed, and the witchy series is slated to premiere in Fall 2023, just in time for Halloween.

Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again was one of the most highly anticipated Phase 5 projects. However, its production was halted due to the strikes, causing a delay. Originally scheduled for release in spring 2024, it’s now likely that the show won’t premiere until 2025.

Wonder Man

Finally, Wonder Man, another Phase 5 MCU show, has also been officially delayed. Not much is known about the project, except that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II will star in the title role as a superhero in Hollywood. Although Wonder Man did not have an official release window, production was halted due to the strikes.

The next Marvel content to arrive on Disney+ will be Loki Season 2, which is set to premiere on October 6. Fans will have to wait a bit longer for the delayed Phase 5 shows, but they can still look forward to a range of exciting new content in the future.
